And the rest . . .

Hole 1. 395 yards, par 4.

A tricky opening with the driving range on the right and a couple of bunkers on the left. The real challenge is the approach over a grassy dune in front of the green – anything landing in the wrong place can get thrown into the trouble at the back.

Hole 2. 155 yards, par 3.

An early test of the short game, any tee shot that is not struck to the heart of the green has a good chance of ending in trouble. The deep bunkers and two tier, sloping green, make the rest very hard work.

Hole 4. 405 yards, par 4.

A dogleg left with plenty of trouble on the right if you do not cut the corner. The tee is shared with the 10th and has some stunning views, but the players cannot afford to be distracted here.

Hole 6. 184 yards, par 3.

Playing back out towards the coast and often into the wind, getting the right distance is essential but extremely difficult. Anything short will fall back a bank where two bunkers lurk, anything long falls away the far side.

Hole 7. 451 yards, par 5.

A seriously humpy fairway with plenty of nooks and crannies that can make the stance awkward for the second. The green can be reached in two by the big hitters, but has a very narrow entrance with trouble on both sides.

Hole 9. 538 yards, par 5.

There are plenty of complications off the tee, especially into the wind, while a new bunker on the right will make the tee shot tougher when players look to fly the trouble. There is more bunkering short of the green, along with out of bounds on the left.

Hole 10. 550 yards, par 5.

The biggest hitters might run out of room with the drive, especially if the wind is behind, while there is trouble right and left leading up to a narrow entrance into the green. Avoiding the bunkers is crucial.

Hole 11. 397 yards, par 4.

A dogleg left with a semi-blind tee shot, some players will leave the bag to take two fairway bunkers out of consideration. A three wood or long iron will still leave a high iron in, but those who gamble successfully will be looking for birdies here.

Hole 12. 511 yards, par 5.

This hole is all about the gamble of going for the green in two, with plenty of trouble and big mounds short and around. The alternative is to lay well back and have over 100 yards for the third.

Hole 13. 179 yards, par 3.

There is a big valley short of this green and the wind always makes it difficult to judge the distance accurately. Two deep bunkers and a two tier green also provide protection.

Hole 14. 524 yard, par 5.

A long straight par five which can be reachable if the fairway bunkers are avoided, along with trips to the tough rough. This is a birdie chance before entering the fiendish final four holes.

Hole 18. 382 yards, par 4.

This will be drivable with the wind at their backs, in fact some players will be wary of the practice putting green behind the hole which is out of bounds. There is plenty of trouble 80 yards short of the green for those who try, but fail, along with lots of bunkers round the green.
